The Power of positive Thinking

Today we were outside playing hopscotch, writing our names, numbers, letters and just having fun with the sidewalk chalk. We played baseball with the dog, pulled some weeds, and rode bikes. While I was pulling weeds, Jamison was helping Linzi and Morgan ride their bikes in the dirt, I heard him teaching them a simple phrase, "I THINK I CAN"! It was so cute to hear the little kids chanting I think I can, I think I can, as they were working so hard to make it up the simple hill. It nice to hear the kids working together and to hear Jamison teach the younger kids a simple but profound lesson. It made me think of all the things I could accomplish if only I remembered that simple phrase. Its hard work to be a mom but these little rewards warm my heart and remind me that its all worth it.

Its been a long while!

I know that its been over a year since I sat down and did this, but I think I have a new energy for it. Last Sunday while on vacation in San Diego we went to the Mormon Battalion visitors center, which was awesome and highly recommended. But after the regular tour we watched a couple of the Mormon.org profiles, one of which was about a mother and father who were burned really bad in a plane crash. She inspired me to be a better mother, a better wife, and strive to better serve the Lord.

Some of the things worth mentioning, that I have failed to document...
Birthdays, Holidays, And cute kids!

Morgans birthday party was at the park after stake conference and I forgot my camera! Darn it. It was a monster truck party, and he had lots off fun.

It was an interesting Christmas this year but we all enjoyed it!

Dallen is an octopus made from a sweat shirt and socks. Morgan is a fire fighter. Linzi wanted to be Mary had a little lamb. And Jamison wanted to be a knight, and he wanted to make his costume so we did.

Update on those Darn Kids

So I thought that the flour incident was bad until I left Kevin in charge of my kids for less then 30 minutes... I came home and noticed that it smelled like bleach which isn't that uncommon for my house I use it almost daily, But I was not prepared for what I saw next. Two huge bleach stains on my carpet in what I call the quiet room. Linzi came in to tell me that she was cleaning the floor for me, I could very well be mad at her, But Kevin on the other hand got a good chewing.
Kids say the Darnedest things, here are some from this past week or so.
We had the couple missionaries over for dinner a couple of Sundays ago. They are a very nice couple from Canada, the sister is very outgoing and her husband is more on the quiet side. After dinner we were visiting on the couch and the elder was teasing Jamison, it was pretty funny. But just as they were walking out the door Jamison turned and said that guy is creepy. They were still in the doorway! I just wanted to die.
We went to tithing settlement on Sunday and here we are all cramped in the clerks office waiting to see the bishop and Linzi announced "I farted, I might poop a little, I need to go potty!" the clerk and counselors just died laughing.
And today, I think this will be an all time favorite. It snowed Last night, the first time this year, so Jamison was excited to go outside to catch the bus. The bus comes at the same time every morning, so when Jamison came back in the house almost 20 mins later, and he was crying I thought he missed the bus and didn't want to be in trouble. But then he stuck his tongue out and asked me if it was bleeding. I did my best not to laugh when I noticed that the end of his tongue was missing some of the skin. I know he went out there and stuck is tongue to something and it froze and he pulled it off. He just watched the Christmas Story on Friday. He wouldn't admit it to me in the morning but opened up about it at dinner, I guess when he could find humor in it. I usually watch out the window for the bus, but today I got distracted, that would have been great to watch, and even better to have a picture of. Oh well, I will just have to imagine what he must have looked like out there stuck to the corrals.

MESSY KIDS

So you know those lovely curses you mother puts on you that you will someday have kids as bad as you were? Well it happens... The other day I found my kids in the other room playing so contently with the flour and sugar, needless to say it was everywhere. My mom likes to tell the story of how Kevin and I did the exact same thing when we were little. She says she cleaned flour out of my bedroom for years. I got my kids just as they were getting a cup of water to add to the mess. It was pretty hard for me to wash the flour out of their hair so I can only imagine how hard it would have been to clean wet flour out of the carpet. When I thought I had most of the mess cleaned up Ifound That somebody had driven a tractor on Dallens little head, guess they did't want him to feel left out.

Thats not the only mess that my little troublemakers have made lately. I also found them finger painting the bathroom with Selsen blue.

One last post for today. House

I got the call today that my house should be done next weekend! Here are some pics, but I need to get some new ones now that the outside is done.

Last week I was in the house showing Vicki the cabinets and Linzi and Morgan had disappeared. When I found them once again they were naked in my giant bath tub, pretending to take a bath. They are a funny pair.

Summer fun

Sorry there are going to be lots of pics of my cute kids playing in the water. They are so cute. It is fun to go outside and find them naked, I just laugh at those crazy kids.

Need a floaty?

Stuck in the bucket.

Muddy bottoms and heads

Linzi loved swiming up at Hiko springs, she wasn't afaid at all.

Grandmas big bowls make great pools for little kids!

July 5th

It was a great weekend because we were able to bless Dallen, and enjoy having Jen and Sterling visit. We guilted them into coming because thats is were we got Dallens middle name. I think they had fun although Sterling hurt his knee when playing basketball. Emily and Chris came as well, and it was fun to see them again. Thanks to all those that came to help with the blessing.

4th of July

We had a wonderful forth of July this year thanks to great friends and family.

These cute kids were patiently waiting for the parade to start. The kids loved it but I think Linzi had the most fun picking up candy. She would run down the road pick up arm fulls of candy and run back to the car with only half of what she started with. The other funny part is that her pants wouldn't stay on her bottom so she had plummers crack supper bad.

This is Linzi running back to the car with her candy you can see how excited she was.

Everyone waiting for the fireworks. I found out that Morgan loves Watermelon, he eats it all even the green part. He had peice after peice, so the next day we enjoyed diapers full of watermelon seeds.

We played with sparklers and enjoyed the fireworks. It was a wonderful evening.
